SCHOOL VISITS TO BURSLEDON BRICKWORKS

Schools' activities are designed to occupy a full day (from 10.00am until 3.00pm), or a half-day (morning or afternoon), and are carefully linked to the National Curriculum subject requirements for Key stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Science, Design and Technology, Geography, History and PHSE.

Cross-curricular opportunities also exist for the application of literacy, numeracy, personal development and the concepts of sustainability and health and safety.

Visits can be tailored to meet your school's specific needs and required learning outcomes.

Visiting schools and child education groups are offered a varied programme of inspiring, experiential, inclusive and fun, educational activities - outdoors or under cover - all year round from Monday to Friday during term time.

There is ample parking for visiting coaches.

Pre-booking is essential.

Open Day Activities for Junior Visitors

Young visitors to the Museum are not forgotten, as quite often it is possible to ride on a miniature train or in a wagon pulled by a steam engine.

Inside you can see how bricks are made by hand, using a brick mould, and you can have a go yourself.

You can see how a steam engine providing the power to run machinery works.

Upstairs in the exhibition Hall there are various activities including building with model bricks, word searches, quiz's, colouring, draw your favourite exhibit at the brickworks or build a sculpture using scrap material.

You will find jigsaws, floor games and books to read. These activities can vary from month to month.

It gives the adults a chance to sit down and take five!

Sorry we are not able to provide a crèche, we do ask that a responsible adult accompanies young visitors at all times, but at least you can have a break.
