Open Day
Sunday 19 July 2009
- Emergency Vehicles on Parade is the theme of the next event to be held at the Museum, situated in Swanwick Lane.Open 10.00am - 4.00pm.
A great selection of vehicles will be on display in the yard.
- Under cover in the museum visitors will find an impressive model, oilrig made from matchstick, currently being submitted for inclusion in the Guinness Book of Records.
- Volunteers are delighted that Sheila Hancock, Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth and well respected actress, has kindly agreed to attend at mid-day to unveil a modern sculpture entitles "Closure", created by Margaret Cooper, a Friend of Bursledon Brickworks, as part of her MA Fine Arts Course at the university. Also attending will be the Mayor of Fareham and her consort. We are very grateful to her for finding time in her busy schedule to support this initiative.
-
This will be an ideal opportunity to visit a unique Museum and be as surprised as many of our visitors when they see just how much there is on offer.
-
If this is not enough in addition there will be steam engines, a miniature railway, catering and free car parking.
-
All in all a great day out for ALL the family.
